Beginners Guide to Worm and shrimp fishing for salmon

Before you go salmon fishing its very important that you are prepared. And that you have everything. So I’m just going to go over a few
things with you. Here we have the plyers we have a snips for the line we have a priest to kill the
fish we have a landing net A good waterproof jacket and a fish bag to keep the fish These are all very important components for a good days fishing out on the river For safety reasons it’s very important to have eye protection while fishing on the river The Shakepspear Supreme reel is a nine bearing reel
which is very balanced and strong It holds 14 pound clear mono line strong
enough to bring in a salmon Today I’m going to be using the Leada 10ft Spinning rod for shrimp setup So here it goes Here we have the red shrimp and we are going to load the shrimp onto a 2 inch shrimp pin And this is our shrimp loaded onto the
shrimp pin with the tripple hook embedded just beaneath the mouth This is the setup I like using. An eight-foot spinning rod with the Mitchell 300 and Antique antique spinning reel Now I’m going to show the ledgering set-up for salmon Insert the line into the bullet shot weight like so Now I’m just going to tie on the swivel
using the improved fisherman’s knot Go around there about
five or six times Just pull it Cut off the excess leaving a small bit of a tag there There we have it Now I’m going to take off
about a foot and a half to two feet of the 12-pound line Now going to tie that piece of line again onto the swivvel with the improved fisherman’s knot Now we’re going to tie on the line
onto the size 6 worm hook Using the improved fishermans knot again Snip that and there we have it… The Ledger Setup… So that’s our basic ledger setup for Salmon The next part I’m going to show is putting live worms on the size 6 worm hook It’s important to cover the whole
hook with the worm so the fish don’t see the hook Worms are on the hook and ready to cast to the salmon! Another popular method of fishing apart
from using the shrimp and worm Is fly fishing for salmon…here’s a selection of flys for salmon The Silver Wilkinson The Willie Gun The Executioner The Silver Doctor The Red Pot-belly Shrimp The Black Pot-belly Shrimp Thanks for watching this tutorial.
