Deep-Sea Sing-Along: Episode 0001: “The Fish Nobody Loves”
Deep-Sea Sing-Along Hey there! I’m a goosefish. You probably
don’t know me—probably never even heard of a goosefish before. We deep-sea fish
don’t get a lot of attention, and frankly sometimes it can be hard not to take
it a little personally. We know we’ve got our issues, but the way we see it:
everybody’s heard about an elephant, dolphins and whales too. You won’t have herd of us because we’re the fish nobody loves Well the life of an average goosefish
just isn’t easy I imitate a rock, use my fins to walk, and I wave the lure on my head to catch my prey.
Hey! maybe one day
I’ll catch a friend all those fish swimming above they get all of the attention but I’m as shy as can be and very, very sedentary who’d wanna swim with me—
you think you have problems! When you’re a bathysaurus, people think you’re
scary! ‘Cause I’m ghostly white, have an underbite, and a grin that only Tim
Burton could admire. And these teeth aren’t helping… I guess I could floss? you can see right through my skin,
but can you look within my aching heart. There’s no need to make a scene,
just because I look like Halloween. I promise I’m not mean! Everybody’s heard about an elephant.
Dolphins and whales too you won’t have heard of us because we’re the fish nobody loves—you sing
it sister! I know exactly how you feel. A scorpionfish that wants a hug.
Ha! That’s a good one… It’s an uphill climb with the face like
mine and well these venomous spines along my back present an issue.
Hey, it wasn’t my choice! How I long for an embrace! Just a trace of validation. sure I got a nasty sting but I am still a living, feeling thing. And I know how to sing! We’re not popular. And we think that’s wrong. But at least we’ve got our own song. Everybody’s heard about an elephant. You’ve heard of us now too. Go ahead and spread the buzz! We’re the fish nobody loves
