1- Cleaning the glass is the first step 2- Tab the glass cuts, so when we use silicone we will have straight and clean lines 3- Silicone the main pieces 4- Remove tabs before the silicone cures Clean work and no silicone free 5- Wait 6 hours to continue for partitions part 6- Tab inside the sump for partitions 7- Silicone the partitions now 8- Remove tabs when you have with each partitions before its cure The final product, Please wait for part 2

  1. I'm contemplating building a sump out of glass myself. How thick is the glass? 1/2"? Did you pick the glass up at a glass automotive shop?

  2. I wish builders of display tanks would also use masking tape. Instead most "professionally built" aquariums on the market have those sloppy silicone joints.

  3. good video but that's the technique i use when I bought a ready made tank. Before you put the last side of glass in maybe you should have siliconed the baffles in then put the last piece of glass to finish the tank. It's easier that way I found. Just a little tip for you to try next time you make a sump.

  4. Could you give us the measurements of the glass you used?
    That could help us a lot and this video would be more helpful if some one want to build this size of sump!!! (Me)
