What does it take to be successful? Mostly it takes being a little unusual, ya gotta have what I refer to as a “will do attitude.” Will
do is more important than ‘can do’ because ultimately ‘will do’ develops whatever ‘can do’ is
necessary to get any job done. How do you gain advantage in markets?
You have to know something other people don’t know, which is nontrivial. Usually it’s gotta be something that’s small and you have access to that other people don’t. The way you remain part of the workforce is to continue to build your human capital. Building your human capital is the most important thing you can do if
you’re aspirational. Focus on the fact that you can’t see five years into the
future for sure when you’re young, and therefore
the need to be patient. It’s a long run. Thank you for letting me come and celebrate with you your success. Thank you.
