The Best Mini Pontoon Boat for Fishing

Hello, I’m Brad Metzler with Pond King
incorporated and I’d like to introduce you to the newest addition to our line of
pontoon boats the Pond King Rebel. We manufacture seven different
models from six to sixteen foot and this is our one-man fishing pontoon. I’d like to show you some of it’s very
unique features. Building a stable small pontoon boat that
would fit back the truck was definitely a challenge. Our solution was designing a narrow
frame that would expand once it was unloaded. The Rebel is only forty-eight inches wide in
transport and expands to over sixty eight inches. It’s constructed completely from aluminum
which makes it lightweight and rust free. The entire pontoon boat only weighs one hundred seventy five pounds so it’s easy to move around with the
attached wheels. Once you’re near the water, pull the pins and use the handles to slide out the pontoons. The pull-out trays give you plenty of
room for all your gear and the deck is coated with a spray on bedliner to give you sure footing in any condition. Replace the pins and you’re ready to load
your battery and mount the trolling motor to the bracket. The pontoon boat includes a plug wired to the
battery box. In addition to tan, the Rebel is also
available in blue powder coating. The Rebel is so easy to launch you’ll be able to access even the most secluded
ponds and lake areas. With a simple boat that is always ready
to go you’ll be getting out on the water more often. Some of the best fishing is usually that
quick trip out to a local private lake. You won’t be sacrificing comfort in this
boat like most small rigs. It maneuvers easily and with its great
stability you’ll enjoy being able to sit or stand while fishing. I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about our Pond King Rebel and if you like the style of the pontoon boat but you’d like a little more room for a second person we offer the Pond King Rebel XL that has an eight-foot deck with
ten-foot pontoons and weighs only two hundred fifty pounds. It comes standard with the below deck
battery storage and a trolling motor mount. With its six hundred fifty pound capacity
it makes it great two man fishing rig or portable duck blind. [gunshots] [laughter] Good job! With one of our Pond King Rebels, you can go anywhere and catch everything!

  1. We have 4 other models of pontoon boats that can have a 20 gallon live-well that is standard or can be added. The smallest boat that has the live-well as an option is the Pond King Sport. Check out our website at, select pontoon boats and click on the Sport tab for more info. Thank you.

  2. The Pond King Rebel is all aluminum and powder coated, making it very suitable for saltwater applications. It was designed to be propelled by a electric trolling motor. It could be rowed, but there is probably better boats out there that would serve that purpose.

  3. It can be shipped by freight to a commercial address anywhere in the U.S. Visit our website to request a freight quote, or call our office: 940-668-2573. We also have them at our location in Gainesville, TX.

  4. my concern was not rust or anything with saltwater but waves. I fish waters 2 to 3 feet waves. Has your boat ever been tested in ocean?
Let me just say I like your design. Your model now expands to 68 inches. Could it expand more, to deal with 2 to 3 foot wave conditions? If so, I will buy one and you have yourself a great product! Let me know if you can custom make something that can reach greater than 68 inches or if your present boat can handle the ocean waves concerning waves. Thanks.

  5. Seth,
To date, we do not know of anyone using one of the Rebels in the ocean. The main purpose behind the design was for smaller bodies of water – lakes and ponds – in which it handles wave conditions just fine. We do not see a large call for that market, so do not have any plans right now to design a custom boat that would expand more than what the Rebel does. We have jigs set for our standard sizes and creating one custom unit is not very economical.

  6. Up here in Oregon we use light inflatable pontoon float tubes (boats),  but we don't have poisonous snakes that could swim out and ruin your day!   I believe yours is the first water moccasin resistant small pontoon boat so you southern boys can now join the mini boat parade!  Nice work!

Btw your *#&#&# snakes make it a pain to develop our flowering wetland meadows on the shores of the southern ponds we design.   grrrrrr

  7. dang, $1295? lets see, get 2 plastic tubes(green used by the city for water) and a platform= $150.00 at the most or does the truck comes with the pontoon? 🙂

  8. The Rebel pontoon boats (and all of our boat models) are built with quality materials that are maintenance free and made to last. Once you purchase a Pond King boat, you'll never have to purchase another one!

  9. I like how compact it is. I like how it expands to give it more area. It looks small enough for a compact car to tow it (when placed on a compact trailer).

  10. I man. You just made my day. I've got pontoon 20 ft broke down no gas leak. But just for me a small plastic toons boat love it no motor but oar hook ups just can't find Ora here. But yours. I love it. Now I'm 340 pounds my little one works great. I even slide into the top of my big van tie down yea I'm red next and I love to build things for fishing due to me being disabled and single parent. But the lord blessed me I no how to find cheaper and trade for things I need bad. That's how I got my little pontoon. But I like yours Better I can stand up. I've had 3 knee surgeries and need a left knee replacement now. So I can't really set long and from a lower seat it hurts. But mine my feet or in the water. Which we got snakes bad and some gators so yea I need a floor. But I love the 2 man room for me o move around and fish. So how much hope cheaper than the new round boat I'm thinking of getting that. When I sell my bass boat or safari van but thanks. God bless

  11. The Rebel shown in this video is no longer available. It has been replace with a newer model – The Rebel Modular Pontoon Boat – which is designed to easily assemble and disassemble for transport or storage. Also, the Rebel XL is now called the Champ… Same great boat, just a new name!
