The Best Spanish Tuna Recipe with Spicy Tomato Sauce

Bienvenidos welcome to Spain on a fork in today’s episode we’re gonna be making a classic Spanish dish that is truly stunning seared tuna steaks with a spicy tomato sauce this is one of those dishes that stay with you forever just because it’s so easy to make has an incredible flavor to it and it’s done in under 30 minutes plus it’s naturally gluten-free and it’s low carb this is truly a delicious seafood dish plus it’s very healthy now to make this recipe I’m gonna be using some yellowfin tuna steaks but you can use whatever type of tuna steaks that you like and you’re also gonna need some hot paprika and some sweet paprika I’m gonna be using Spain on a Fork’s sweet smoked Spanish paprika and Spain on a Fork’s hot smoked Spanish paprika both of these paprikas have such an incredible flavor to them and they truly give this dish that authentic Spanish taste you’ll find a link in the description box below where you guys can get these alright folk’s let’s get started we’re gonna begin by grabbing 2 cloves of garlic removing the skins and finely mincing them next we’re gonna grab 1/2 of an onion remove between 2 to 3 of the outer layers this always gives the onion a better texture and it makes it a lot easier to cut and finely dice the onion and as you guys know any meal that starts with garlic and onions is always gonna be a great meal now grab a handful of fresh parsley and finely chop it ok let’s get to the star of the dish I’ve got 2 fillets here of yellowfin tuna I bought these frozen and thawed them out just because it makes it a lot cheaper you wanna gently pat them down with some paper towels to remove any of that excess moisture inside then season them with sea salt on both sides and some freshly cracked black pepper again on both sides you wanna make sure you always season your proteins correctly that way they’re full of flavor for the last couple of ingredients I’m gonna grab a can of tomato puree (tomato sauce) measure out 1/2 a cup and reserve a 1/4 cup of white wine ok let´s start cooking our dish grab a nonstick frying pan heat it with a medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil after heating the oil for 2 minutes I´m gonna add the fillets of tuna into the pan and you wanna use a spatula and push down on each fillet this is gonna give them that beautiful sear after cooking these fillets for about a minute and a half I´m gonna flip them the thickness of these fillets is about 1/2 an inch so you wanna go about 90 seconds per side after cooking our tuna steaks for a total of 3 minutes go ahead and remove them from the pan transfer them to a dish and we’re gonna cover it with some foil paper to keep them warm now using the same pan with the same heat add the diced onions and the minced garlic and mix them around with the oil after cooking our garlic and onions for about 1 minute I’m gonna add 1/2 a tsp of sweet smoked Spanish paprika and 1/2 a tsp of hot smoked Spanish paprika and mix it all together once everything is well mixed and you wanna do this pretty quickly that way that paprika doesn’t get a bitter flavor to it add a 1/4 cup of white wine the white wine is gonna help deglaze the pan as well as give this sauce an incredible flavor 2 minutes after adding the wine and you can see it’s really thickend up we’re gonna add the 1/2 cup of tomato puree season with sea salt freshly cracked black pepper and about a tbsp of freshly chopped parsley and mix it all together once everything is well mixed lower the fire to a LOW heat after cooking this sauce for about 3 minutes add the tuna steaks back into the pan after about a minute you wanna flip each of the tuna fillets that way they´re fully bathed in this beautiful spicy tomato sauce after heating the tuna steaks for about 2 minutes this dish is ready to go remove the pan from the heat and garnish it with some freshly chopped parsley ok guys our dish is done I´m gonna get in there and let you guys know how it turned out look how beautiful this looks look at tuna let me get some of that with that sauce here we go first things first it is perfectly seasoned from the sauce to the tuna so important to season your food correctly its got a bit of a kick from that hot paprika you know if you guys like very spice you can substitute the sweet paprika for the hot one for me its got the perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness and a little bit of heat beautiful dish you guys saw this very easy to make done in 30 minutes surprise yourself with this amazing dish if you enjoyed today´s video hit that like button leave me a comment below and if you´re not subscribed smash that subscribe button until the next time…Hasta Luego!!!
